According to the housing and population census of 2007 G.C the population is 120,960 out of which 49.76% is Female and 50.24% is male annual growth rate 4.72% Different nations and nationalities live in Jimma. Some of them are Oromo , Amhara, Tigre, Gurage, Yem ,Dawuro, Silxee etc. Similarly there these different nations and nationalities worship in different religions. The dominant religions are Christianity and Islam.
